About Michelle Finerty

I took my first step on the yoga mat in 1999 and have never looked back! Due to the calm and balance that yoga brought into my life, I started to explore the history and spirituality of yoga and decided to complete my teacher training in Vinyasa (flow) Power Yoga with CorePower in 2007.

Michelle Finerty

I teach with a style that focuses on blending flowing poses (asanas) with breath (pranayama). My intention is to make yoga fun and safe for all, while being present and open to all of the beautiful things life has to offer.

I believe your yoga mat is your own private island away from the world…a place to refuel, reconnect, and tune in

I believe in the precision, not perfection of yoga, as there is no perfect pose and we never strike the same pose twice… but we always learn something about ourselves when we step on the mat.

I have spent most of my life learning the art of simplicity and awakening mindfulness to accept myself and the world with compassion and I love sharing this with each and every person who shares their yoga practice with me.

I am passionate about yoga as a path to the best within and bring that out in a safe and playful atmosphere through the variety of classes I teach.

Please take a moment to look at my class offerings  and find the right one for you.  There is truly something for everyone between gentle, relaxing stretches in my yin classes – playful, strength building poses in my rigorous  classes – exploring what it means to be a mother with nurturing flow and deep stretching in prenatal classes – moderate flow combined with fun, bonding exercises to do with your children, ages 6 weeks – 10 years old in Baby and Me and Family classes.

Life is a journey…enjoy the ride, live with courage and compassionate awareness, and learn to fly on and off the mat with me!
